We verify your insurance benefits and tell you the expected out of pocket amount. Avoid loud noise for about 12 hours before testing.

Check in and history
Short paperwork, then a conversation about your hearing concerns, noise exposure, medications, and the situations that matter to you.

Examination and testing
Otoscopy, wax removal if needed, then full diagnostic testing including speech understanding in noise and middle ear measures.

Results and plan
Your audiogram is reviewed with you the same visit. If treatment is indicated, you receive options with itemized pricing in writing. There is no obligation to decide that day.
Bringing someone with you helps
A familiar voice makes speech testing more meaningful to interpret, and a second set of ears in the results discussion means more of it sticks.

How soon can I get a hearing test appointment?
Most patients are seen within the same week, and diagnostic evaluations are often available within a few business days. Call (910) 262-4478 during office hours for the next open slot, or submit the request form on this page and the office will confirm a time.
What should I bring to my hearing appointment?
Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications, any prior audiograms or hearing records you have, your current hearing aids and chargers if you wear them, and if possible a spouse, adult child, or friend who can help you remember the discussion.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for a hearing test?
Avoid loud noise exposure for about 12 hours before testing, since temporary threshold shift can skew results. Do not attempt to clean wax out yourself. If you have an active ear infection, drainage, or pain, call the office first so we can advise whether to reschedule or see a physician.
Can you help me schedule an appointment for my parent?
Yes. Adult children arrange a large share of our evaluations. You can submit this form on a parent's behalf, and we will call to confirm details with whichever of you should be the main contact. Please plan to attend the visit if you can.
