Clear numbers before you decide anything

Benefits verified up front, itemized written quotes, and payment options that do not require a same day decision.

How we price

Transparent pricing, and no bait offers

Hearing care advertising is full of no cost screenings and limited time device pricing that only makes sense once you read the conditions. Clearwave does not run those offers. Instead, you get a verified benefit check before your appointment and an itemized quote you can take home and think about.

Every quote separates two things that other practices often blend together: the cost of the devices themselves, and the cost of the professional care that makes them work. Seeing both lines is the only way to compare one practice against another.

  • Insurance benefits verified before the visit, with your expected cost stated in advance
  • Itemized written quotes covering devices, verification, and follow up care
  • No same day pressure and no expiring discount tactics
  • Options at more than one technology level, with an honest opinion on which fits your listening life

Medicare and Medicare Advantage

Original Medicare covers physician ordered diagnostic testing but excludes hearing aids and fitting services. Many Advantage plans add a hearing allowance, usually routed through a third party network with a limited device menu.

Those networks can save money. They can also restrict which devices you may have and how much follow up care is included. We will lay out both paths with numbers so the comparison is real.

HSA, FSA, and tax treatment

Hearing evaluations, hearing aids, batteries, and accessories are qualified medical expenses, so pre tax HSA and FSA dollars apply. That effectively reduces cost by your marginal tax rate.

Hearing expenses may also count toward the medical expense itemized deduction. Ask your tax advisor about your situation, and keep the itemized receipt we provide.

CareCredit and payment plans

CareCredit is a healthcare credit line widely used for hearing aids, and promotional terms are often available for qualifying applicants. The office can walk you through the application.

In house monthly payment arrangements are also available for qualifying patients. Terms are always given to you in writing before anything is signed.

Compare quotes properly

Five questions to ask any hearing practice

  1. Is real ear measurement performed on every fitting, and is it included in this price?
  2. How many follow up visits are included, and over what period?
  3. Is this quote for one device or two, and which technology level is it?
  4. What happens to service and repair costs after the warranty ends?
  5. Can I have this quote itemized in writing to take home?

If any answer is vague, that vagueness is the finding. A practice confident in its care will put all of it on paper.

Answers

Insurance and cost questions, answered

Does insurance cover hearing tests?

Most major medical plans cover a diagnostic hearing evaluation when there is a medical reason for the test, and Medicare Part B covers diagnostic testing when ordered by a physician. Clearwave verifies your specific benefits before the appointment and tells you the expected out of pocket amount in advance.

Does Medicare pay for hearing aids?

Original Medicare does not pay for hearing aids or fitting appointments, though it does cover physician ordered diagnostic testing. Many Medicare Advantage plans include a hearing aid allowance, often administered through a third party network. We help you understand what your plan actually provides and how it compares with paying directly.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds for hearing aids?

Yes. Hearing evaluations, hearing aids, batteries, and related accessories are qualified medical expenses under IRS rules, so health savings account and flexible spending account dollars can be applied. Keep your itemized receipt for your records.

Are payment plans available for hearing aids?

Yes. Clearwave accepts CareCredit and offers monthly payment options for qualifying patients, which lets the cost be spread over time rather than paid at once. Terms are provided in writing before you commit to anything.

Why are hearing aid prices so different from one place to another?

Because quotes often include different things. Some prices are device only, others bundle years of appointments, verification, cleanings, and warranty service. Clearwave itemizes device cost and care cost separately so you can compare quotes honestly instead of guessing what is inside a single number.
